A space is never really done.
It moves and changes and evolves as we do. Styles change, inspiration changes and pieces move. Or in my house, get spraypainted.
My home is a 4 bedroom 2004 Arizona tract home with small rooms and virtually no storage space. (Seriously I have no walk-in closets, no linen closet, no coat closet, no walk-in pantry, and no drawers in my bathroom. Torture, I know.) We bought this house in ’09 and have since brought 2 babies home to it. We’ve pretty much grown out of it and planned on moving to bigger, better things but in October my priorities shifted when I decided to quit my day job to stay home with my kids. Eeek! Now this small house (with its small mortgage) is the perfect size for practicality.
But this has forced me to get creative! Both with how I spend money on furnishings, but also where I put them and how. It has forced me to be creative with repurposing, using items I already have, maximizing tight spaces, and designing my home on a serious budget.
Thanks for coming along my home tour. I’m sure it will change frequently as my décor ADD kicks in (too much inspiration, too few rooms!) and I have some home improvement things on my checklist, but for now this is home!
